"yo man! thanks so much for the cdr you sent, severe electronics shred.
smart-as-hell lookin packaging rig too, that's always deeply appreciated 'round our hood....love the fried digital terrain photocopies, makes a sick zine for the music to live in. we're a little up-to-our-eyeballs in other release committments right now to take on something new but really appreciate you sharin what yr up to, intense stuff.
all best, britt"

help! our once faithful tascam 424 4-track portastudio is giving some horrific backGround hum. it’s not recordinG said hum - but is audible on playback..
we’ve thoroughly cleaned and prodded the little fella to no avail, still humminG away...
anyone know its cause? can it be mended? is it worth mending?
maybe an earth wire’s come loose somewhere. is it the usual 50hz mains hum?
i assume you’ve already tried unpluGGinG unnecessary leads, moving it away from any source of hum, and switchinG off any electrical stuff that might be interfering with it.
hmmm. dunno, sounds earthy....bugs one for you ?
my amp has an earth hum too - it stops if i touch the metal bits, is this easy to sort?
i’ve got to get my Guitar seen to anyway because the bridge pickup has stopped making sound
not sure if its a 50hz hum, an annoying one yes. have tried away from all other equipment etc etc. still humming away...
sounds like you have a BAD EARTH in the guitar. take the scratch plate off and line the inside of the control rebate with silver foil
yeah, are you sure it’s the amp and not the guitar?
it might also be dimmer switches - my bass hums when i play anywhere that has dimmer switches. if your practice room has dimmer switches try turninG them off and see if it still hums.
probably is the guitar actually. it needs looking at anyway. it sounds and plays lovely but it’s been a bit temperamental since i’ve had it.
no dimmers thouGh.
dimmer switches. sexy.
